King Solomon the Apostate If Solomon was a wise man, why was he an apostate? If Solomon built the Holy Temple, why did he allow false gods to be worshipped there? If Solomon built the Holy Temple, why did he allow false gods to be worshipped there? Isn't there something very odd about Solomon? I've been thinking a lot about a conspiracy theory put forward in a book called "The Armageddon Conspiracy." It deals with a modern Messiah, an encounter with the Ark of the Covenant, and a perfect recreation of Solomon's Temple. It's a very weird book, and quite disturbing. I always thought that the Ark of the Covenant contained the Ten Commandments, but according to this book, it was carried into battle by the Israelites, had miraculous powers, and might very well be said to be a vessel in which the Israelites carried their God. (Only the High Priest of the Temple was allowed to approach the Ark, and he reputedly communicated with God when he addressed the Ark.) Is all of this true? ••• More options Report Add bookmark Share Reply Report G GuardianShua Well-Known Member Feb 2, 2004 8,666 302 ✟10,653.00 Faith May 18, 2008 #2 May 18, 2008 Add bookmark #2 rebel_guy said: If Solomon was a wise man, why was he an apostate? It is God Himself that has power, the Ark is only a tool. ••• More options Report Add bookmark Share Upvote 0 Reply Report Upvote 0 visionary Your God is my God... Ruth said, so say I. The Ark contained the Commandments, and is considered God's mercy seat, or seat of judgement. The Ark being carried into battle was bringing the Lord on His throne. ••• More options Report Add bookmark Share Upvote 0 Reply Report Upvote 0 Show hidden low quality content You must log in or register to reply here.
