The hierarchy, sacraments, and dogma were directly from Jesus, continued faithfully by St. Peter heading the Apostles, and preceded Constantine by almost 4 centuries. Constantine only legalized Christianity and defended the Church. God bless him for that! The hierarchy and Magisterium are apostolic, not ‘pagan.’ The phony claims of heretics then and now are contradicted by mountains of evidence. St. Clement’s letter in about 95 A.D. exercised his papal authority against a troublesome faction in Corinth. The Corinthian Christians, like the Apostles, respected and obeyed papal authority then and after. St. John waited in deference to St. Peter, and let St. Peter go in first.
