AWARD-WINNING DJ Black Coffee, whose real name is Nkosinathi Maphumulo, has opened up about the abuse allegations against him. His ex-wife, Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa, previously accused him of abuse and assault.Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, 28 December, Black Coffee said he had not been okay since the claims.ALSO READ : Mampintsha’s mum 'barred' from memorial service!“The day my ex accused me of physically harming her, nothing was the same. It has left a heavy void in my heart; a void I can’t shake off. I lost a big part of myself, no court of law could ever fix the pain and shame I still carry today,” he tweeted. He then posted another tweet, saying his father was abusive, and his ex-wife used that and rode on it.“My late father was abusive. To see her continue to ride that wave as a victim, using me and some of my tweets about it on that swimwear as an activist, is quite dark and irresponsible. She knows people who abused her. She must confront them and leave me alone.”The abuse allegations led to Enhle opening a protection order against Black Coffee to keep him from entering their marital home. The case was heard in the Randburg Magistrates Court last year, and the order denied. However, the tweets have awoken a debate on social media. While some people have been sending the DJ messages of encouragement, some have said he was making himself the victim. Twitter user Azania wrote: “Black Coffee and Enhle are broken and hurting, maybe even bitter. We are not in a position to say who is wrong or right. Maybe working things out will help them. It is clear they haven’t found peace since the divorce. Maybe they were too quick in taking the decision.”REGISTER TO COMMENT!Then Katlego said Black Coffee was not a victim. “Black coffee can’t have two children outside marriage and expect Enhle to be normal, no ways. He must be a man for once, come out with the truth and apologise first if he wants us to feel sorry for him. He’s never a victim.”Moratoa commented: “Black coffee out here trying to play victim, yet he didn’t think of his reputation when he was emotionally abusing Enhle.”When called for a comment, Enhle Mbali said: “Please call him and ask him for a comment because he’s the one who tweeted, not me.”I appreciate your tweets and respect all your opinions however I didn’t tweet so you can “believe me”.I needed to get this off my chest and I need her to stop making me the face of her GBV campaigns…I’m not the one.— Black Coffee (@RealBlackCoffee) December 29, 2022Black Coffee's deleted tweet.Black Coffee's deleted tweet.Black Coffee's deleted tweet.Black Coffee's deleted tweet.
