I woke up this morning to news of local schools being evacuated because of threats that had been received by phone.
My first assumption and hope was that it was a student that had some reason to want out of school that day or just up to general mischief.

As it turns out, the call was made by a strange individual named Shane Creppel Kersey.

You may have noticed a rather unusual fashion statement regarding his head-wear. That's right, he's wearing a tin foil hat.

Kersey, whose mugshot showed him wearing aluminum foil on top of his head, told investigators the foil wrapped around his head secured by a baseball cap was there to prevent microwave signals from entering his head.

Kersey was arrested and taken to jail.

The reason I am posting this in a conspiracy forum is this;
When I read about trends on this website I find myself looking for confirmation in the news or even in the general chatter I hear "on the street".

One of the subjects that seems to be getting attention around ATS is the crack down on conspiracy theorist. There have been a few threads about proposed legislation saying as much and also the recent conspiracy websites under attack have created quite a buzz, so bearing that in mind I peruse the news as usual but with an eye toward confirmation of these concerns.

Now, as if on cue, we have a person being charged with terrorizing (children, no less), who happens to be wearing the iconic TIN-FOIL-HAT. An image that both screams conspiracy theorist and crazy at the same time.

I have to be honest, I'm not on board with some of the conspiracy subjects discussed here, (although I do want to know more), and indeed I don't automatically see conspiracy here, but it is one of those synchronicitys that makes me take notice.

www.wdsu.com...

Anyway I thought you folks may find this interesting and I'm definitely interested in what the ATS community thinks about this.

He's not even wearing the tin-foil hat correctly! Look, it doesn't even cover most of his forehead and his ears are almost completely exposed! And why didn't he spray paint his hat green for camouflage!

He is the worst conspiracy theorist I have ever seen! What a joke!

Yeah, just kidding. But yeah, of course the media is going to show the kooks to represent us AHEM... theorists. Anyway they can make the public not see the truth is the media's agenda. This is just a fairly good example of this.

After a quick search I found this photo of a seemingly nice gentleman modeling the Velostat head-wear and I must say he certainly looks more sensible.

The photo came from www.stopabductions.com, a site about avoiding alien abductions so yeah, I'd say the Velostat is the way to go, thanks for the info.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

As I understand it that is about hate groups and has zero to do with a site like ATS. They are not targeting us here, they are after dangerous groups we all know exist.

We see some of that here but they are identified quickly and not allowed to post their vile crap here. Any rumors it's about a site like this are unfounded. If that type of person were allowed here, I would not be here myself.

ATS is so large and doing so well because that is not allowed IMO. I would never volunteer to help at any place that associated with who they are talking about.

Looks like this case is just a lone nut who needs help. I think often these are cries for help from the mentally ill and they have no intent of actually acting on threats. It's a cry in the wilderness for someone to please help.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Dude looks completely doped up and I wouldn't be suprised if they put that Tin Foil hat on prior to having his picture taken. He doesn't even look like he knows what's going on for crying out loud.

Seems like propaganda to me, in order to give the authorities a reason to crack on us conspiracy theorists. The public will take one look at that picture and automatically assume that that's the kind of people we are? I don't think so. Far from it.

I don't know what's going on. But it seems like our Freedom of Speech over the Internet will try to be sensored as much as possible, especially against websites like ATS who actually question everything that the Goverment do or wants to do. There's always an agenda behind their doings, cause and effect.

If he's not drunk then I'm not a Pope (see Discordianism). For me ATS is much more than a conspiracy site, so much more I question why the site still focuses exclusively on it when talking to the press. It's full of science, space information, history, ancient civilizations, tips on living but not loving, and breaking news. The only tin foil hats here are sold in the gift shop.

Notice the Jacket?

"Parker Drilling" founded in 1934 the same year

"J. Edgar Hoover developed a more sophisticated Federal Bureau of Investigation as a weapon against organized crime."
in response to the the big media criminals like Baby Face Nelson, Pretty Boy Floyd, Bonnie and Clyde, and of course Dillinger the most notorious of all.

1934 was the year the FBI sold out to the psy ops trolls.

You sure thats not a photo op promo from Adam Sandler's new movie..."Happy Tin Foil Hat Guy"??

Sure looks like him........

Apparently the movie is about a conspiracy theorist, who can play golf, was once a Bosnian secret agent, was a waterboy, went on to be a fooseball hero, ended up in prison then turned in to a woman, who made custom size tin foil hats for everyone with remote controls and became a millionaire.............One to keep an eye out, for sure.

On a side note. When has a tinfoil head piece ever had any connection to conspiracy theorists? I know Hollywood movies depict it but I don't see any real connection there at all.

I suspect it has something to do with someone thinking aliens or the government was trying to read their mind and assumed tin foil would protect ones mind against such an attack.

To actually entertain this notion. Would Tin Foil even have any effect on such undefined technologies lol. But seriously! There's just as much chance Tin Foil could amplify effects from some completely undefined technologies (lol again).

So other than some movies that may have depicted this. I have never seen it. I know no one who has ever or would ever do such a thing. And I'm a proud conspiracy theorist!

I don't know why people do that.

If they wanted to "program" you. They could just implant a subliminal hypnotic command into a radio,tv,local natural enviromental background noise, in phone calls, embedded transducers, etc.

This "hat".

Its an aluminum faraday cage modeled into a "hat".

It reflects most radio signals. Its not very effective. It only shields you from limited angles.

You need an entire insolated suit. You have to be shielded from every angle like a microwave oven or a CATV.

But how do you block ultrasound pulses or infrared radiation?

I agree with the spirit of your post but,

When has a tinfoil head piece ever had any connection to conspiracy theorists?

I'll bet if you ask most people what they think of when you mention tin foil hats they will say conspiracy theorist.
Whether or not it's valid is another subject. My point is that in pop culture the connection is strong.

To actually entertain this notion. Would Tin Foil even have any effect on such undefined technologies lol. But seriously! There's just as much chance Tin Foil could amplify effects from some completely undefined technologies (lol again).

From wiki;(I know, it's wiki etc but still)

The notion that a tin foil hat can significantly reduce the intensity of incident radio frequency radiation on the wearer's brain has some scientific validity, as the effect of strong radio waves has been documented for quite some time.
Great subject for another thread, it's probably been done.
The idea has been a part of pop culture for so long it's easy to see how some unstable individuals could become obsessed with it's usefulness much like a placebo. This is what makes it a great propaganda image. It's associations.

Its a crappy faraday cage.

Its useless. They can embed NLP/Hypnotic commands in damn near anything.

I never said the hat worked. I'm just saying the general public associates the hat with conspiracy nuts. I agree with you whole-heartedly. Especially your first post;

He looks drugged.

That's sort of the point of my OP, I just wanted to see if anyone else thought about it that way.

Here's a nice instructional video, although it advocates the use of Bacofoil, thus it's sort of dated. Just sub in 'velostat'.

Wearing a tin foil hat draws the wrong kind of attention.
You need to use the right kind of metal to gain respect for your weird ways, get a gold crown like the Royal families do. It will do the same thing but is more socially acceptable
