Kearney, Neb. — Harmon Pool in Kearney will likely stay closed for the next week or so after someone reportedly broke in and vandalized it.

Kearney police said the vandalism happened overnight Friday after someone broke into the mechanical room and switched valves, leading to some of the water in the pool to be drained.

Officials said the damage was caused to several pieces of equipment and a high-pressure pipe that is part of the pool water re-circulation system.

They said the pool will stay closed until the necessary repairs are completed, and they are hoping to re-open within 7 to 10 days.
